Fun lessons about Easter
So what are the things an Easter lesson plan really needs? In my opinion, you should include as many language skills as you can. That means you give students some reading to do, some watching, or listening to complete. Then you’ll have them write something, and there should be some speaking there. And then there is a vocabulary of Easter, that you can teach them too!
Lessons of Easter and language skills practice
Some Easter activities ESL students will love are speaking and writing about the holiday:
- Use discussion cards with questions on them for them to use in small groups to activate their knowledge of Easter.
- Or have them pick one of the questions and elaborate in a piece of written text.
I think Easter lessons are not complete without some reading and listening:
- Get students to read this text about the holiday and answer questions about it that you came up with.
- And have students watch this video about Easter and tell them to summarize what they’ve learned.
And then there is vocabulary. Teach them some words related to Easter, like Easter bunny, basket, hot cross bun, and tulip. Then review by having them play a game of dominoes or memory. Or try these free Boom cards to practice the words!
Then at the end, ask them to summarize, either in writing or spoken, what they learned about Easter. I bet it’s a whole lot!
