Are you using quiz making websites in your lessons yet? If you’re not, you should! Quizzing students can be awful (just fill in the correct answers on a written test) or it can be SUPER FUN!! The following websites have specialized in providing the cutest, most colorful, most interactive quizzes ever, and my students enjoy them immensely! Let me tell you why you should use quiz websites for students!
On these fun quiz making websites, you can make your own quizzes for students to complete digitally. You can also use quizzes that other teachers made and shared with everyone – something I confess I do often 🙂 – with the click of a button. Or.. hear me out, you can have students create the quizzes THEMSELVES! These websites are super interactive and their graphics are amazing. Let me tell you about my top 5 best quiz making websites!
Kahoot is my favorite quiz website for students. It has super cute visuals, and music plays while students have to enter their answers! The quiz question will appear on your board (put it up there), then the answers do, and 4 colors appear on students’ devices for the 4 possible answers to choose from. Kahoot! shows them the ranking after each question and there’s a stage at the end. So fun! Try this one to see for yourself!
Quizizz is similar to Kahoot! but students can see the questions and answers on their own device and click the right one. There’s ranking going on in this one as well, students can maintain a ‘streak’ and they can win points!
Quizlet is essentially a digital flashcard vault, but you can use these flashcard sets in different ways. There are games, as well as quizzes with various exercises. Personally I love the matching game, which students can also play on their device. Try this game to get a feel!
Google Forms, or its Microsoft counterpart, offer a very clean, clear way to quiz students. They offer a variety of question types (multiple choice, short answers and paragraph answer) and formats to offer them in, and you can include pictures in your questions! The answers are provided to you in Excel. I love this website for my task cards! Check a set out here!
Socrative offers another way of quizzing students in a fun and interactive way. They have games as well (Space Race), and another cool thing is their Exit Ticket option, in which you can ask a student how well they understood the lesson. You can give them immediate feedback too, so they know why an answer is wrong. Another cool thing is their Exit Ticket option, in which you can ask a student how well they understood the lesson! Give these quiz making websites a try! They are awesome, and they have really given my lessons a fun boost in engagement!
